Django & Skyfall both had incredible cinematography, as did The Hobbit: Part 1...which was not nominated here. Django had more of an epic 'feel' and 'scope' to it.

Thoughts: Some expected, some unexpected. I was surprise by the lack of nominees for The Hobbit: Part 1 and The Dark Knight Rises in the technical departments - cinematography, sound, and score. I wish well that film well, as well as Django, Les Miserables and Lincoln, as they are all excellent pieces of work in their own right. I'm glad for Django Unchained and Skyfall.
