At long last, The Northerner Diaries  Symphonic Sketches by Jeremy Soule is available to everyone, not just Kickstarter backers! This album is a series of sketches for the Soule Symphony No. 1. which means, as incredible as this music is, it's not the finalized, full product. The 12-track, 54 minute album is available essentially everywhere digitally. Terrific news everyone!! The Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack is now EVEN MORE widely available!! Here are the links and formats (sorry let's assume that the vinyl set is sold out. did you get one? Either way, THIS is the one you need.). Good day all! Yesterday evening, TheOneRing.Net hosted a live session with Doug Adams, 'musical scholar' for Howard shore's Middle-earth movie scores. He has assisted Howard tremendously with The Complete Recordings (even going so far to do the liner notes, which were expanded into its own book called The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films ). Last night, I asked my question (twice - once at the beginning of the session and properly during question time). I had asked: "Doug - can you provide any updates on either 'The Music of the Hobbit Films' book *OR* 'The Hobbit Complete Recordings?' His answer, to paraphrase is this: The Book: - it is already completed in some form. (My guess is rough version, first draft etc.) He said "I'm looking at it right now, actually." Here is the track listing for the fourth Game of Thrones soundtrack release.   The soundtrack includes a version of “The Rains of Castamere” as performed by acclaimed Icelandic post-rock artists Sigur Ros in a mid-season cameo appearance. The song, written by Djawadi and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, has appeared sporadically over the course of the series (most famously during the Season 3 episode which featured the fabled Red Wedding), and celebrates the heritage and power of House Lannister.
