"Vikings" to End at Season 6

Image
This week, we had the season finale of Season 5 [Part B] and it has also been announced that Season 6 will be the end of the show. However, since it'll be 20 episodes, expect it to be once again split into 2: Season 6 [Part A] and Season 6 [Part B]. I'm hoping that the final episode of the entire show will be approx 90 minutes, as well as possibly Episode 11 (the first episode of Part B.) On the ending of the show, creator Michael Hirst has this to say: "I always knew where I wanted the show to go and more or less where it would end if I was given the opportunity. What I was trying to do was write the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons. After six seasons and 89 episodes, that’s what I felt — finally — I’d done. We stopped shooting the final episode in November last year and I felt that I’d said all I needed to say about Ragnar and his sons. I told my saga, and I’d been very fortunate to be given that opportunity by MGM and History. I had no reason to want to ...

All Empires End

Tonight on HBO is the final episode of Boardwalk Empire. Here is a 'Final Shot' video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2NqtIq3U64&list=PLO79iP69FaZOYtjEpHb2OMIQgzu4qRduM   Hard to believe that the end has come for this HBO prohibition drama. I admit, I have not yet seen season 4 or 5, but I shall get to it - shortly. At least they knew going into season 5 that it would be the final season. I was hoping that the show would run from 6-8 seasons. It seems to have had a decent run, however.   To me, Boardwalk  was one of those shows that was pretty good (from what I saw) but the vast majority of people were watching other shows on TV, or just did not watch it / like it.  Here is a look at the poster for the final season, which seems fitting:

"Homeland" Season 2 Now on Netflix Canada

Image
Today I got a notification that Netflix (Canada) has uploaded more episodes (season 2) of Homeland . I'm watching House of Cards season 1 at the moment, then will watch Hell on Wheels season 2 before returning to Homeland . During the summer, I will also watch Vikings . Seems like I watch a lot of TV, but it's all spread out throughout the year.

Not long ago, I finished watching Breaking Bad All of it. Here are my thoughts.

A Note on TV Drama

Image
First and foremost, I like a story the most. I enjoy action and special effects if there's a need for it and they fit in with the story being told. With that in mind, let me look at TV DVD collection.  Battlestar Galactica Firefly Dexter House  Lost Mad Men The Tudors On my list of ones to get : Breaking Bad Game of Thrones (already watch but don't own) Homeland  The Newsroom Sherlock (already watch but don't own) So as you can see, I quite like drama TV. I also really like some drama films, but lately TV has been do good, you can don't have to go to the theatre to find a good story. On my list of ones to get, they will most likely be blind buys due to the overwhelming reception I've heard from friends with similar tastes, & critics (those who I agree with).  Interest on Netflix On Netflix, I've discovered a really good underrated show; well underrated in comparison to some of the others I've me...
