Sens Heritage Jersey

Image
Next Thursday (the 28), The Ottawa Senators will reveal a new heritage jersey to be worn against the Vancouver Canucks in B.C on March 2. I'll post again once the jersey has been "officially unveiled". Full release: http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=691910

Struggling Sens

Image
Lately the Ottawa Senators have been struggling. We haven't been winning a lot of games. We played the West Coast a lot, and had a late home opener. I'm not sure what it is, but we've got to start winning some more games. It's still early in the season, so the gang has still room to catch up and improve....though hopefully with more wins than losses. The next game will be tomorrow night vs Chicago.

Stomping Grounds

Tonight the Ottawa Senators will tackle the New Jersey Devils at their home of  CT Center. This is the Sens' home opener of the regular season, and we are looking for a big win. Get ready, cus here it comes!

Sen-Sational

Wow. Just wow. What a game. Not only did the Ottawa Senators defeat Montreal a second time (game 3) but we destroyed them 6-1. Pageau got a hat trick. It was definitely a great night for Ottawa, made even greater when Ottawa fans were smearing Montreal's 'Ole' song right in their faces. I can't wait for game 4 to see how it will all turn out (or even the end of the first round). Speaking of, curious to see who Ottawa will face in round 2. But let's not jump the gun. With the other teams, Pittsburg is a head which isn't good for Ottawa. The Capitals are head 2-0. Boston and toronto are tied. In the West, the Blues are ahead and so is San Jose. One final hockey note before I end this post. Over the weekend, we celebrated my girlfriend's sister's boyfriend's birthday, and he is a fan of another NHL team. He has some merchandise and got an 'old time' hoodie. This has renewed my interest in hockey gear. Here are some of the S...

Yes Sens Yes

Image
The Ottawa Senators are going the playoffs. Not only did they beat the Caps tonight 2-1, but one of the team's best players, Karlsson, has returned to the game tonight. I'll do another hockey post closer the playoffs. Well done boys. Onto the next battle.....

Ouch

Image
The Ottawa Senators have had a pretty season for the most part, but the last 2/3 or half haven't been too good. There was Karlsson's injury. Speza was out. And Anderson was out...all at once. We've won a few good games here and there, but the stats haven't been as good since all the injuries. Like the team is trying to climb back up, but a nasty person at the top ledge keeps batting them and down and away. And they lost their Saturday night game to the Toronto Make Me Laughs. Ouch baby. Very ouch. I am a strong and proud Sens fan as much as the next guy. Been following them since...'97. I don't 'follow' the stats or the points but watch when I can, and make the odd rant here and there. However, playoffs are right round the bend. Should the Sens not make it in (I hope they do, but the way they've been playing....) I have a few teams in mind to consider. I'll save that for another post, but keep an eye out on the Washington Capitals. S...

An Update of Hockey and Football

Things have been good in sports lately. I've fallen behind on my sports updates for the blog, so this post will encompass both hockey and football.

Sens Home Opener

Tonight is the Ottawa Senators' home opener, in some Canadian sport...

Love Hurts

The Ottawa Senators have been slain in battle against the New York Rangers.

Round 1, Battle 1

Image
The Ottawa Senators lost their first game against the New York Rangers. Ottawa fell behind by 4 goals, but managed to snag 2, for a 4-2 loss. The Rangers were all over Ottawa (especially the main defence), and Zack Smith (grr) kept getting us penalties. Meanwhile, the Bruins managed to get their first win of round 1, after a tense game. We'll see how the rest will follow.... As it stands - 'Home' team: 0; 'Playoff Pick' Team: 1

Life is Awesome!

Image
After last night's awful loss (awful because of how Ottawa played) against the Jets, the Sens brought it back and destroyed Toronto in tonight's round of Battle of Ontario. They trounced the Leafs 3-2. Aflie & Spezza were on top, the opposing team still had a higher shot on goal, but Ottawa's increased. Well done, Ottawa - I was at the game last night vs the Jets, so I was hoping you'd win that, but you beat Toronto's 'team' pretty well. Good victory!

Life's Not Fair

Image
It's one thing to lose a hockey game, but when the team isn't playing properly (over & under skating, missing passes, not shooting properly) and gets 35-25 shots on goal after a 4 game win, it makes one want to cry. At least Anderson was able to keep the loss at 2-0. They best beat Toronto tomorrow night!

Sens Topple Pens!

Image
Last night's Sens game was quite something, aside from the fact that we won 5-1. Big props go out to Neil, Butler,  & Spezza, Michaelek. Way to go boys, you did well! Let's hope we can see these kind of results come playoff season....
