THE RINGS OF POWER Season 2: Trailer, Poster, and Date

I've stated before that I'm a fan of Prime's Rings of Power series, though it's been a bit since I've mentioned it; due to when the previous season finished.

Before I continue, I wish to address my verdict (as of now): I like it more than The Hobbit films, but nowhere near as much as The Lord of the Rings films. I am able to compartmentalize books and their adaptations. There's more things that I do like about this series than things I don't. I like it enough to watch each season, wondering what will happen next, and what will happen to the characters. While I like both, I recognize that House of the Dragon is the superior show.

So Season 2 is set to debut on August 29. It will be 8 episodes (like Season 1), so going on that, we can expect the season finale to be October 17 - on the assumption that we get one episode per week, each week, non-stop. With essentially all the TV shows I watch, no matter how much I'm interested in them, I wait for the season to be finished.

The trailer for Season 2 is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCwmXY_f-e0

Come October 17th, I'll be starting the season. Once finished, I'll post my review here. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm also looking forward to Bear McCreary's music and soundtrack releases.

To add in closing: no adaptation is considered canon. 'Canon adaptation' is an oxymoron. As beloved as the Peter Jackson films are, remember that he and his crew made changes and cuts: there were no Elves at Helm's Deep. Faramir, Frodo, Sam & Gollum never went to Osgiliath. Frodo never sends Sam away....just to name a few. And those were still widely well-received films. It's definitely fine to not like The Rings of Power - but please ask yourself why that is. I personally wish that the name "The Lord of the Rings" isn't included in its official title and that it would only be called "The Rings of Power." I know: name association, etc. Though by using "The Lord of the Rings" as part of its title, it's implying that it's immediately connected to that book or story. Sure, it comes from the Appendices found in that book; it really is its own story not directly to the narrative found within The Lord of the Rings.
