Backbreaking Work? Not Quite...

This past weekend I helped build a patio. It was 13 ft x 13ft, and we dug 8 inches deep. The area we were digging didn't have dirt....nope, we were digging up was clay and rock.

The largest rock we dig up was about three times the size of a head, and weighed about 90 pounds. Once we reached the 8 inch marker, we compacted it. Then came the crushed stone. Compact. Crushed stone. Compact. Stone dust. Compact. Stones got placed, then cemented etc.

Began Sat morning around 8 am, and finished around 5 pm. Sunday we resumed what work had to be done around 10, and finished up for real around 6. Busy weekend, lots of work involved.

If you do any do it yourself, make sure you do your research.
